A group of students from 14 prestigious universities in Germany visited Imam Bukhari International Research Center.
This visit was organized by the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Humboldt University in Berlin as part of a particular course for foreign students. During this course, the Uzbek language and culture, the history, geography, and the economy of Uzbekistan will inform German students during the next two weeks by organizing trips around our country.
In the center, the course participants got acquainted with the activities of the museum and its exhibits. An international roundtable on “Samarkand – the intersection of cultures and religions” was organized.
During this visit, the heads of the Center’s department B.Amonov and T.Evadullaev informed students about the role of religion in human life, the importance of the Center in widely promoting the ideas of peace and tolerance of Islam, achievements in scientific activity, the current state and prospects of cooperation established with scientific institutions at the international level, in particular in Germany. In addition, got acquainted with the joint projects being developed and the German scientists working together.
During the event, the books published by the Center, the project “10 truths about scholars” and pamphlets were presented, and the essence of the idea of “Enlightenment against ignorance”, the basis of promoting activities of the center, was discussed.
During the question-and-answer session, the guests were informed about Imam Bukhari and his contribution to the development of Islamic civilization, the constitutional reforms, the role of the family institution in the ancient values of our people, ensuring freedom of conscience in our country, and the results of the work done in the religious and educational direction.
