MANUSCRIPT HERITAGE AND CONTEMPORARY SCHOLARSHIP

Denov Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy hosted an international scientific-practical conference titled “Modern Interpretations of National and World History: Problems and Solutions.” Mehrojiddin Amonov, a research fellow at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, participated in the event with a presentation entitled “Rare Written Sources: The Case of the Manuscript Collection of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center”.

The researcher highlighted the significance of the rare manuscripts preserved in the Center’s manuscript collection for the study of the scholarly heritage of Central Asia, with particular emphasis on their value in analyzing historical information related to the eras of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termiziy, and Imam Moturidiy.

As noted, in the present context of an extremely rapid and intense global flow of information, the tasks of digitizing manuscripts, introducing them into academic circulation, and presenting them as new sources for young researchers are of particular importance. According to the scholar, many of the manuscripts preserved in the collection provide a strong foundation for advancing new perspectives and scholarly conclusions in the field of historiography.

Additionally, the presentation provided detailed information on international standards for manuscript preservation, contemporary restoration and conservation techniques, the digitization program currently being implemented at the Center, and its practical outcomes.

Conference participants — including international experts — expressed strong interest in Mehrojiddin Amonov’s scholarly paper. It was emphasized that his theses and conclusions further demonstrated the high level of the Center’s scientific capacity in the study and preservation of historical sources in our country.
