On November 10 of this year, the newsroom.info website of the Arab Republic of Egypt published an article by Otabek Muhammadiyev, Senior Research Fellow at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, entitled “Religious Tolerance and Interethnic Harmony: The Guarantee of Our Invaluable Peace”.
The article emphasizes that since the early years of independence, fostering an atmosphere of harmony, mutual respect, and tolerance among representatives of various religions and nationalities has been one of the key priorities of state policy. The author notes that in Uzbekistan, the necessary legal and spiritual foundations have been established to ensure that every citizen can freely practice his or her faith, while the values, sacred sites, and traditions of different religions are carefully safeguarded.
At the same time, the article refers to the provision of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan that guarantees the equality of all citizens.
It emphasizes that this principle holds great significance not only as a legal norm but also as a fundamental factor in fostering tolerance and mutual respect within society.
In his article, the author notes that in Islamic teachings, tolerance is expressed through the concept of mercy, which calls for beauty, kindness, and justice in human relations. He emphasizes that such a noble attitude forms the core of Islamic enlightenment, wherein respect for all beliefs, cultures, and traditions, as well as tolerance toward diverse opinions and religious views, serves as the foundation of social stability and peace.
The publication of articles by Uzbek scholars in such international media outlets demonstrates that the reforms, as well as the scientific and educational initiatives undertaken in Uzbekistan in the spheres of religious tolerance and interethnic harmony, are gaining recognition on the international stage. This, in turn, contributes to further strengthening the positive image of our country within the global community and plays an important role in showcasing the true humanitarian and peace-loving essence of Islam.
