A Thought-Provoking Appeal Delivered from the United Nations Platform

The speech delivered by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly is recognized as a historic statement that aligns with contemporary demands, is scientifically grounded, and establishes strategic priorities.

The ideas and initiatives presented by the President are significant not only because they address national interests but also because they encompass the collective efforts of the global community towards shared progress.

As highlighted in the speech, modern threats and challenges are increasingly becoming major obstacles to sustainable development. In this context, Uzbekistan distinguishes itself by prioritizing human dignity, ensuring the welfare of every citizen and family, promoting the advancement of science and education, and reinforcing peace and solidarity.

The issue of in-depth study of Islamic knowledge and spiritual heritage became one of the most spiritually significant points of the speech. The initiative to establish the Islamic Civilization Center, planned to open soon, along with the proposal to showcase the legacy of our great scholars — Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, and Imam Maturidi — from the United Nations podium, undoubtedly reinforces Uzbekistan’s position and responsibility in the global spiritual arena.

In an era marked by severe challenges, conflicts, and contradictions in world political processes, this aspect of the speech delivered at the UN General Assembly was imbued with the idea of achieving universal harmony and peace based on the heritage of Islamic civilization, enlightenment, and the principles of tolerance.

This development not only enhances Uzbekistan’s international prestige but also confirms the legitimacy of initiatives aimed at the broad promotion of spiritual heritage.

Our team fully supports these initiatives and is determined to further strengthen our scientific and practical activities in their implementation. The works and intellectual legacy of great thinkers and scholars are founded on the principles of humanism, peace, justice, and enlightenment, serving as an essential spiritual and educational source in addressing today’s global challenges.

At the same time, the proposals put forward by our Head of State—such as shaping Central Asia into a region of peace and cooperation, drawing the attention of the international community to global ecological problems including the Aral Sea crisis, ensuring the upbringing of youth, and promoting the fair use of artificial intelligence opportunities—serve as an important program of action for all of us.

In short, the initiatives advanced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev from the rostrum of the United Nations further strengthen the image of New Uzbekistan as an open, united, and enlightened country. Today, it is incumbent upon all of us—scholars, intellectuals, and active members of society—to make a worthy contribution to the practical realization of these noble ideas.
