INTERVIEW WITH GERMAN RESEARCHERS

A group of researchers from several scientific institutions in Germany visited the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center. Their visit was organized by several foreign organizations in the framework of practical projects in cooperation with the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages.

The guests first got acquainted with the Museum of the Center and viewed the exhibitions and wall paintings that tell about the life of Imam Bukhari.

As part of the visit, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic of “Islam and the Secular State” based on the “Roadmap” for cooperation between German research centers and cultural institutions and the Center for 2019-2023, with the participation of foreign researchers.

In this discussion, the scientific staff of the Center gave information on the subject to German researchers. And they informed on the legal foundations of state-religion relations, freedom of conscience, and the activities of religious organizations in Uzbekistan.

In the roundtable discussion, it was emphasized that religion is separated from the state in our country, and it is not allowed to set privileges or restrictions on any religion or religious belief over others.

During the heated question-and-answer session, the participants were given insights into religious organizations and religious educational institutions, religious traditions, and rituals.
