At the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, a scholarly discussion was held with Dr. Sheyla Ainun Yusuf, a distinguished expert in Islamic finance, who serves at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (ISTAC) and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
During the discussion, the scholar exchanged views with the Center’s research staff on contemporary trends in Islamic finance, Shariah law, and social responsibility. She provided detailed insights into her experience in implementing Shariah compliance within Islamic banking and financial systems, as well as the internal audit methods she developed based on the principles of Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah (“Objectives of Shariah”).
Dr. Sheyla Yusuf also highlighted the contribution of Islamic finance to sustainable development and addressed the enhancement of waqf and zakat systems as instruments for promoting social justice.
At the conclusion of the event, proposals and initiatives were discussed to expand scientific collaboration between the Center, ISTAC, and IIUM, as well as to implement joint projects.
