At the invitation of Dr. Ahmad Sagir, director of the Algerian Research Center for Islamic Sciences and Civilization, Shovosil Ziyodov, director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and Senior Researcher Shukurillo Umarov are currently on a scientific visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria as part of the Uzbek delegation.
The delegation, composed of representatives from the Imam Bukhari and Imam Termizi International Scientific Research Centers, was received by Sheikh Zaydulkhayr Mabrouk, Chairman of the Supreme Islamic Council of Algeria. During the meeting, discussions were held on bilateral cooperation in studying Islamic heritage, researching ancient manuscripts, organizing scientific-practical conferences, implementing academic exchange programs and launching joint projects. Agreements were reached on several points.
Sheikh Mabrouk praised the religious and educational reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, noting that Algeria is closely following the country’s efforts to revive and promote its rich Islamic scholarly heritage at the global level. He expressed readiness for close cooperation in studying and widely disseminating the legacy of the great scholars, thinkers, hadith transmitters and jurists who emerged from the lands of Mawarannahr.
The meeting also provided detailed information about the goals and missions of the international scientific research centers, their ongoing research, published works and implemented international projects. Sheikh Mabrouk remarked that he is familiar with the work of these institutions and highly values their international reputation.
At the end of the dialogue, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, facilitate academic research and scholar exchange, implement joint projects and develop mutually beneficial relations. They also committed to closely collaborating in the study and international promotion of the historical legacy of Islamic civilization.
During the visit, members of the Uzbek delegation are scheduled to participate as honorary guests in the international conference titled “Sufi Samaa: Heritage of the Past, Melody of the Present and Future”, to be held in the city of Aghwat. The event will include presentations, experience sharing, and the establishment of new academic connections.
