MANUSCRIPTS OF OUR GREAT ANCESTORS KEPT ABROAD ARE BEING STUDIED

Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center held an online seminar on “Manuscripts of the scholars of Uzbekistan and Mowarounnahr which are kept in Malaysia” in cooperation with the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

The leadership of our center and scientific staff, officials of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, and independent researchers participated in the seminar, and in that the head of the Department of Pedagogy and Islamic Studies of the International Islamic University of Malaysia, prof. dr. Muhammad Said made a speech.

The scientist is one of the first winners of the international scholarship program named after Imam Bukhari established by the Center this year. As a result of his scientific research on the subject of “Research of manuscripts written by the scholars of Uzbekistan and Mowarounnahr preserved in the countries of Southeast Asia”, a catalog of the same name was created in Arabic. In the future, it is planned to translate it into Uzbek and publish it in cooperation with the Center.

At the seminar held in Arabic based on the international scholarship program, the professor noted the importance of researching the manuscripts of the scholars of Uzbekistan and Movarunnahr kept in Southeast Asian countries and shared information about the results achieved in terms of their cataloging and obtaining facsimile copies.

Dr.Muhammad said that this scientific work, which is the beginning of a major scientific project, was carried out on manuscripts that are being kept in the Sayyid Muhammad Naqib Attos Library in Malaysia. This catalog, prepared by the scientist, contains information written by Movarounnahr scholars about 150 manuscript works in 20 fields related to Hanafi fiqh, usul fiqh, aqeedah, Qur’anic sciences, tafsir, sirat, hadith, logic, puberty, and Arabic language grammar.

In the future, it is planned to study and prepare a catalog of manuscripts that are being kept in other libraries in Malaysia and Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand.

These scientific works are the first research conducted on the works in the libraries of these countries and serve as an important source for the detailed study and consistent research of the spiritual wealth of our country.

At the end of the seminar, the Malaysian scientist answered the questions of the participants in detail.
