A delegation headed by Dosay Kenjetayev, Professor at the Khoja Ahmad Yasawi International Kazakh – Turkish University and Director of the Ahmad Yasawi Research Center, paid a visit to the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.

The guests toured the Center’s museum and familiarized themselves with the exhibitions dedicated to the life and scholarly legacy of Imam Bukhari.

Within the framework of the visit, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic ‘The Arrival and Spread of Islam in Central Asia.’ The discussion covered the foundations of the region’s civilizational development in the 8th–10th centuries, the role of Islam in the advancement of knowledge and spirituality, as well as the spiritual bonds that unite the Uzbek and Kazakh peoples.

Professor D. Kenjetayev reflected on the role of the Yasawi Sufi order in the spiritual life of Central Asia, discussing its Sufi philosophy and ideas concerning human perfection. He emphasized that the intellectual legacy of thinkers such as Ahmad Yasawi, Bahauddin Naqshband, and Imam Maturidi provides a shared scholarly and spiritual foundation for both peoples.
During the discussion, epistemology — the theory concerning the sources and development of knowledge was also addressed. The guests noted that the centuries-old scientific tradition of the scholars of Transoxiana, which harmonized logic, empirical observation, and historical facts, is highly esteemed worldwide.
As highlighted, the introduction of Islam to Central Asia marked not only a transformation in religious life but also initiated new developments in law, economics, culture, architecture, and governance. Furthermore, the interactions between scholars of different peoples were a significant factor in fostering the great scientific awakening in the region the Eastern Renaissance.

During the dialogue, ideas were also exchanged on establishing joint research projects, practical initiatives, and scientific exchanges between the centers.
