Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin, Indonesia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, paid a visit to the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center.
The Director of the Center, Shovosil Ziyodov, first acquainted the distinguished guest with the exhibits and rare manuscript copies related to the life and scholarly legacy of Imam Bukhari, preserved in the Center’s museum.
Madam Dzuhayatin was then briefed on the activities of the Center and its departments, the facilities created for researchers, the achievements attained, as well as the current state and prospects of cooperative relations with major scientific institutions in Indonesia.
It was noted that during the visit of the Center’s representatives to Indonesia in July of this year, as part of the Uzbekistan delegation, a series of meetings were held at several prestigious academic and educational institutions.
In particular, it was noted that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University in Jakarta. This document serves as a legal basis for cooperation between the academic institutions of the two countries in such areas as joint research, publication of scholarly articles, faculty and student exchanges, as well as the study and digitization of manuscripts.
It was further emphasized that the Imam Bukhari International Scholarship Program also plays an important role in the scientific relations between the two states. The guest was introduced to Damanhuri Armadi, a lecturer at Raden Intan State Islamic University, who is currently undertaking academic training within the framework of this program. He is engaged in the study of manuscript sources and conducting scholarly research. The Ambassador showed interest in his research and impressions of the Center. Mr. Armadi expressed his satisfaction with his work at the Center, noting that the academic environment here has provided him with great inspiration.
Madam Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin expressed her gratitude for the hospitality extended to her and highly commended the remarkable results of the reforms being carried out in our country in the sphere of religious and educational enlightenment. She further emphasized her readiness to make full use of all available opportunities to strengthen and expand cooperation in this field, particularly between the Center and Indonesia’s leading academic institutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, the guest was presented with publications issued by the Center.
