As previously reported, the Fourth Summer Seminars on Movarounnahr, currently underway at the Institute of Islamic Thought in Ankara, Turkey, continue successfully. As part of the program, a spiritual and academic visit was organized for the participants to the city of Konya.
In Konya, a city renowned worldwide as a center of knowledge and spiritual enlightenment, the participants visited several historical and spiritual landmarks. These included the Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi Museum, the Mausoleum of Shams Tabrizi, the town of Sille, the Iplikçi Mosque, the Alaeddin Keykubad Mosque, Dar al-Mulk, National Park, and the Iqror Educational Center.
As part of the visit, scholarly dialogues were held with several prominent Turkish scholars, including Professors Ali Akpinar, Hüseyin Yılmaz, Ömer Özpınar, Adil Yavuz, and Associate Professors Musa Erkaya, Furkan Çakır, and Süleyman Sarı. These meetings provided a platform for in-depth discussions on subjects such as steadfastness in the pursuit of knowledge, essential virtues of a scholar, the rich intellectual heritage of Movarounnahr, contemporary trends in Islamic thought, and the challenges and opportunities currently shaping the field.
Imam Bukhari International Scientific-Research Center’s researcher Qodirkhon Mahmudov is actively participating in this professional development program.
The practical activities, educational visits, and scholarly dialogues held within the framework of the program are making a valuable contribution to strengthening international institutional cooperation.
