I CONSIDER THE PROMOTION OF IMAM BUKHARI’S SCHOLARLY LEGACY TO BE THE MAIN IDEA AND ESSENCE OF MY LIFE

Eka Shanti Rofi, Editor-in-Chief of Kalimantan Post newspaper:

Uzbekistan is a revered land that has raised many great figures who made immense contributions to Islamic science and culture. Every inch of this land is sacred, every corner—honored.

For many years, I have been pondering the question: “What is the secret behind the emergence of hundreds, even thousands, of scholars from Uzbekistan?” During my visit to your country, I feel as though I have found the answer to that mystery. The homeland blessed by Allah captivates every soul. Words cannot fully describe the noble and hospitable Uzbek people. When I visit Uzbekistan, I feel as if I am walking in my own homeland.

In Uzbekistan, I sensed the light of knowledge and enlightenment. I believe this light is extremely important for the entire world today, including Indonesia. When a guest from Uzbekistan visits Indonesia, it feels as though they are bringing the light of enlightenment from Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmidhi to my homeland. Indonesia draws strength from this light.

Your country holds great potential in the field of pilgrimage tourism. If we use this opportunity wisely and organize visits of Indonesian tourists to Uzbekistan, it would benefit both countries. Every Indonesian dreams of visiting historical cities like Bukhara, Samarkand, and Khiva, and of seeing the resting places of the great scholars whose lives were devoted to Islamic enlightenment. We must put forth all our efforts and resources to make this a reality. I am always ready to contribute to this cause.
