Currently, a delegation from our country is on an official visit to Indonesia, comprising representatives from the Committee on Religious Affairs, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, and the Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Tirmizi international scientific research centers. Among the delegation are the Director of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center, Shovosil Ziyodov, and researcher Kamola Khasanova, who are actively participating in the meetings.
As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan delegation held meetings with Muhaimin Iskandar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Development of the Republic of Indonesia; Amirsyah Tambunan, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council; and Ulil Abshar Abdalla, representative of the Supreme Council of the Nahdlatul Ulama organization.
During the negotiations, the parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation, implementing joint scientific projects on current religious and educational issues, sharing experiences, and enhancing scientific potential.
Muhaimin Iskandar emphasized that the universal ideas embodied in the scholarly heritage left by the great scholars of Uzbekistan play an important role in addressing today’s global challenges. He noted that the spiritual and moral values expressed in the works of Imam Bukhari have become a vital source for overcoming many social issues in Indonesian society.
Ulil Abshar Abdalla also proudly noted that today, many families in Indonesia are naming their children after figures such as Bukhari, Maturidi, Termizi, and Ulughbek.
The delegation’s visit is ongoing.
