An Important Step in Further Developing Pilgrimage Tourism

On June 27, a delegation of around 20 representatives from leading Indonesian tourism organizations operating in the “Umrah Plus” and pilgrimage tourism sectors visited the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center as part of their trip to Samarkand.

The guests became acquainted with the Center’s scientific research activities, museum exhibitions, ancient manuscripts, and rich spiritual heritage. They received detailed information about the prominent status of Imam Bukhari’s work “Sahih al-Bukhari” and its significance in the Islamic world. Members of the delegation highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s potential in pilgrimage tourism, referring to the country as “a sacred source of knowledge.”

During the meeting, the parties discussed establishing cooperation in organizing practical visits for Indonesian citizens within the framework of “Umrah Plus” to the centers of Islamic science and enlightenment in Uzbekistan.

This visit played a significant role in increasing attention to the study of the scholarly heritage of great Islamic scholars and promoting Uzbekistan more widely as one of the key destinations in the Muslim world.

The Indonesian guests expressed their high regard for the activities of the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Center and emphasized that such practical visits are mutually beneficial and should be continued in the future.
